I’m a Mexican-American artist and designer based in Austin, Texas. I create artwork using parametric 3D modeling as my primary medium. I recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where my interests in graphic design, industrial design, and spatial systems developed into an artistic practice. As a college student, I wanted to become the “Bruce Lee” of design, practicing every discipline, learning every tool, and becoming as well-rounded as possible. After graduating, I realized that the design industry often values specialization, and for a while I questioned whether trying to learn so many different things had been a mistake. Eventually, I began to see these skills not as separate disciplines, but as parts of a unified visual language.
I work primarily with Rhino 3D and Grasshopper, software developed for architecture and industrial design. Instead of using these tools to create functional objects, I use them to construct imagined environments that exist somewhere between architecture, sculpture, and abstraction. Much of my process involves connecting nodes that were never intended to work together, creating relationships that extend beyond their original purpose. My work is inspired by Jiddu Krishnamurti’s philosophy of unconditioning the mind. Working within the fixed logic of computational systems, I explore the possibility of freedom within constraint. I hope to use what I’ve learned across different disciplines as a means of expression, bringing these skills together to create work that feels personal and uniquely my own.
